Die Tuishuise is an elegant collection of beautifully restored Victorian era craftsmen’s houses in Cradock, the frontier town at the eastern edge of the Great Karoo. More than two dozen Tuishuise line Market Street up to the Victoria Manor, a grand old colonial hotel that welcomes you with hearty country fare, décor from the days of Cecil John Rhodes, Olive Schreiner and the droves of adventurers who passed here en route to the hinterland.

Die Tuishuise consist of 30 refurbished Karoo style cottages ideally located in
Market Street, Cradock. Die Tuishuise have been awarded the coveted "Simon van der Stel"
Gold Medal for restoration.
These unique houses have been restored to their former splendour, recreating the gracious
bygone era of the 1840's. Guests are afforded the rare opportunity to escape the present and
enjoy the historically rich surrounding, as well as the personalised service and amenities
required by today's discerning traveller.
Each house is decorated in its own distinctive theme of period prints and antique furniture,
to reflect an atmosphere of understated elegance, reminiscent of the lifestyles Settlers
at the turn of last century. Each house has it's own lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
