Our Bed and Breakfast offers a peaceful haven for the stressed, tired and weary traveller in need of some pampering.

Lavender Haven Bed and Breakfast is dedicated to ensuring you professional and personalised service. Your stay with us should always be relaxed with minimal intrusion. Your "Home from Home"

Our establishment is comfortable, private and quiet. We accommodate a maximum of six people in two en-suite comfortable bedrooms. Each room has a private entrance.

Nestling at the foot of the Bedford Mountain, this charming 1820 Settler village of Bedford lies on the fringes of the Karoo Heartland, roughly equidistant from Port Elizabeth, East London and Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, the province where Nelson Mandela was born. Bedford is the ideal base, from where you can visit the Frontier Country, Amatola Mountain Escape Route, Njoli Route, Merino Route and the Karoo Heartlands.

The cottage was built around the time of the proclamation of the town of Bedford in 1857, and therefore is one of the oldest in this beautiful Village.

The ground are extensive, covering some 3300 sq. metres, some of which are beautifully landscaped. To supply our fine gift division, a large section of the grounds are in the process of being planted with Lavender,

The Bedford area offers a large variety of outdoor adventure activities and is a must for all nature lovers. The history of the area could occupy you for days with unexplored areas still to be researched. The scenic beauty and sense of peace will keep you entranced at every turn.

4 x 4 Trails, Horse trails, Photographic safaries, Hang Gliding, Outdoor education excursions, Bird watching, Hiking, Mountain Bike trails, Bass fishing, Pottery weekends on farm, Hunting - trophy, venison or sport, Game viewing. Sporting Activities include Tennis, Bowles, Cricket, Soccer, Rugby, Snooker, Bridge, Golf.
